Pain is something Bailey knows all too well, having endured it since she was a child from those who were supposed to protect her.

Escaping one form of Hell, she finds another with the man she marries.

After years of heinous abuse, tragedy strikes, and Bailey has no choice but to flee.

Jaded Hollow was supposed to be a temporary stop. A place to take a deep breath after months on the run.

What Bailey didn't count on were the people welcoming her with open arms. Making her feel safe and protected for the first time in her life.

Especially Jaxon Walker. The tattooed bar owner who's determined to get under her skin and force her to reveal her deepest secrets. Even if it puts everyone she cares about in danger.

Just when Bailey finds the love she's been searching for her whole life, her past blazes its way into the dream world she's been living.

Will Jaxon save Bailey before it's too late? Or will the evil that is her husband finally finish her off?

  • Terribly written and sensitive topics was used poorly

This book had no taste to it. Completely bland. It also has MANY mentions and scenes of rape that was completely glorified. “If you get raped a hot man will love you for it” It was unrealistic and just flat out insulting to real life rape victims. Disgusting.

    Abuse of women
  • Unrealistic

Wow I’m not even a person with a history of abuse but this book was not only very traumatic to read but is very unrealistic. Even I know that! This person somehow overcomes all of her physical and emotional issues without any psychiatric or medical help at all? Then magically sex and a new relationship make it all better? The writing is decent but this person knows nothing of the subject matter.

Horribly written. Crazy story where nothing makes sense. I mean, there’s a reason it was free.

Weird, anti choice, very archaic opinions
  • So Disappointing

The only thing good about this book is the premise. I thought I was going to read a book about a woman overcoming her abuse, but instead I got explicit scenes of abuse and sex, and missing plot lines. This books skips from genre to genre and moves faster than the flash. Save yourself the trouble and find another book.

Not many books can rip an unexpected tear from my eye. The way Alex is able to give us a glimpse into the life of a victimized woman is hauntingly magnificent and showing us that there love after pain will just maybe give hope to those in these situations. I’m ready to see what else this series holds.
